About Levi Park
Levi Park location
Levi Park is situated off Levi Road at the Northern end of Rolleston, neighboured by Bluegum trees and farm land. This development will provide its residents with the comforts of community living whilst allowing a rural lifestyle with a view to the port hills.
Previously a farming residency and horse training track, Levi Park Provides a gateway to the ever growing Rolleston township. The Accessibility to Rolleston has now been improved by the motorway extension which is commuting people to Christchurch faster and safer than before.
In 1990 with only a very few sealed streets, Rolleston was a little more than a friendly speed bump amidst the expanse of the Canterbury plains. Once a never ending landscape, boarded by snow caped Alps and peppered by bushy pine shelter belts. Over time this land has developed, and made way for lush farm land and a booming dairy industry. Quickly, it became a desirable new home for townies and farmers a like and with its community spirit in full force and population of 1000, the town was focused on becoming the town of the future.
It’s 2013 and the population has increased to over 10,000. The sleepy town is no longer quiet as more and more people move to Rolleston to live and work due to the rising opportunities in industrial, retail, and professional capacities. Rolleston now comprises 2 supermarkets, a vet and medical practices, banks, critically acclaimed restaurants and a Warehouse just to name a few of the locally run enterprises. It has now become a buzzing metropolis of its own no longer reliant on Christchurch for its basic necessities.
Rolleston has become a town which has continued to flourish post the Christchurch earthquake due to its lack of effects from liquefaction and minimal building damage, many Christchurch residents have made their way South in search of a safer feeling for their growing families.
Schooling in Rolleston is still being improved upon. Rolleston primary is the larger or the two schools and a need for a Rolleston based secondary school are being regularly assessed by the Selwyn council as an inevitable solution to the growing population. However the town has adapted with a regular connection bus route through to Lincoln High School to make the commute easy for travelling teens.
